What's New On The 2018 Ford Escape

With every new model year there are new changes and updates and new to the 2018 Ford Escape is an all-new trim level. The new SEL trim is equipped with a power liftgate, leather interior, and SYCN 3 voice-activated technology. Other updates and changes to the 2018 Ford Escape include new upholstery, Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, the latest version of SYNC and advanced safety features.

Advanced Safety Features

What is the most important thing a new vehicle has to offer? While the fuel efficiency and performance are in a close tie advanced safety features take the top spot. Because at the end of the day we all want to get home safely and the 2018 Ford Escape has a lot of advanced safety to offer. Riding Inside the 2018 Ford Escape

Once inside the 2018 Ford Escape, many of our Lake Show Ford customers have noticed how easy this crossover is to use. All of the important controls, such as climate control and radio functions, are well-labelled and within easy reach. Additionally, the cabin is well-built, and perfectly insulated from outside noise, providing a quiet and smooth ride even at highway speeds.

The size is just right with the 2018 Ford Escape, too. It's a small SUV crossover, but it's easy to get in and out of. The size is perfect for just opening the door and sitting down. You won't experience any of the bending and contorting you would with a compact car, and you won't need to haul yourself up into a tall vehicle, such as with a pickup truck or larger SUV. Plus, once inside, the Escape feels roomy and airy, with plenty of legroom, elbow room, and headroom for both you, and your passengers. The Escape seats five comfortably, and even three full-grown adults sitting side by side in the backseat won't feel cramped.

Of course, as a Ford vehicle, you would expect the quality to be high inside the Escape as well, and you won't be disappointed here, either. The seats are well-made, using nice materials, and they're padded just right, to retain comfort all day, even on long road trips. Plus, the front seats have multiple adjustments and settings, so you can set the seat up exactly the way you want, for maximum comfort.

No longer do you have to choose between a vehicle that is fuel efficient and a vehicle that is powerful. The Escape has three powertrain options to choose from that turn every trip into an exciting adventure.  First is the standard 165 horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with independent variable cam timing for a spirited ride. Or choose between two EcoBoost powertrain options. A 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine or a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with 245 horsepower. Both EcoBoost powertrain options are equipped with Auto Start-Stop technology for increased fuel economy. Each powertrain option on the Ford Escape is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and Select Shift for a sporty feel with the control of a manual transmission without the clutch.

The 2018 Ford Escape is up for any adventure with available Intelligent 4WD system, standard traction control, and the ability to tow up to 3,500 lbs. When the snow starts falling you can get behind the wheel with confidence knowing the Intelligent 4WD system is continuously monitoring traction and road conditions to transfer torque from the front to the rear as needed to maintain control and traction at all times.
