The Ford Mustang is a classic muscle car, and the latest generation has taken the pony car and added smooth road manners and a sophisticated look and style. The 2019 model arrives with a new Bullitt model and a new California Special package. Ford also revised some of the available features. Here are some more details for the 2019 Ford Mustang.

Trim Levels

The Mustang now comes in five different trim levels, and you can choose from a coupe or a convertible body style. The entry-level EcoBoost starts things off with 17-inch alloy wheels and HID headlights. The EcoBoost Premium adds 18-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, and the option for the Performance Package which comes with 19-inch wheels and summer tires along with a larger radiator, and the option for MagneRide adaptive suspension dampers. The GT and GT Premium models have 18-inch wheels and come similarly equipped to the EcoBoost models.

The new Bullitt model comes with Highland Green exterior paint, special Bullitt wheels, and Bullitt badging. It also comes standard with the features of the Performance Package.

The EcoBoost modes come with the base 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine. This powertrain generates 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque and it has a six-speed manual transmission with the option for a 10-speed automatic. The GT models add to the power with a 5.0-liter V-8 that makes 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. The Bullitt uses this same engine, but it gets 480 horsepower.

The manual transmission in the Mustang GT has unique rev-matching technology that allows the driver to get precision heel-and-toe shifts without having to actually use the technique. Any of the engines provide plenty of power, with the base 2.3-liter getting you up to 60 miles per house in just five seconds. The V-6 is even better with a zero to 60 sprint in just four seconds.

Four passengers can sit in the Mustang, and it has comfortable and supportive front seats. The convertible has a power-operated soft top with a one-hand release to make it easy to put down. The EcoBoost has cloth seats, and just a bump up to the EcoBoost Premium gets you leather upholstery. The GT models add power-adjustable front seats and the option for a heated steering wheel and Recaro sport seats.

For technology, a 4.2-inch center display screen comes standard along with two USB ports. The EcoBoost premium adds an 8-inch touch screen along with the Sync 3 system for entertainment. This comes with voice recognition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and FordPass apps. This allows you to use your smartphone for functions such as remote locking and unlocking and as a remote start.

Safety Features

A rearview camera comes standard in all the Mustang models. The GT models add rear parking sensors, and Ford offers extra advanced safety features as options on all the models. These systems include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and a forward collision warning system with automatic emergency braking.
