The 2018 Ford Edge features elegant character lines, a luxurious interior, and four unique trims to choose from. With a starting MSRP of $29,220, this SUV won't put a damper on your budget either. With so much to offer in terms of performance and safety, we're sure you'll love a spin in the all-new Ford Edge. Here's a guide to help you learn more about this SUV:

Trim Levels

This year's Edge is available in the SE, SEL, Titanium, and Sport. Show off your stylish ride with exterior accents like lower black cladding, a stainless steel exhaust tip, and black beltline molding. Practical perks include a rear window defroster, solar-tinted windshield glass, and LED taillamps. Rain-sensing wipers and a Panoramic Vista Roof are available above the base trim.

The first three trims run on a Twin-Scroll 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, while the Sport boasts a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6. A 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V-6 is available as well. All engines are backed by a six-speed automatic transmission, and the top trim adds a sport-tuned suspension to the mix. With the 2.0-liter, expect an output of 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. The 3.5-liter produces 280 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque, and the Sport's 2.7-liter V-6 tops with 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque.

The SE, SEL, and Titanium deliver smooth performance with their front-wheel-drive powertrain. However, for excellent traction and even more power to handle tough paths, the Sport comes standard with an Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive system (which is optional on the lower trims). An independent front and rear suspension, hill start assist, and electric power-assisted steering are equipped as well to help you maneuver over uneven surfaces without a hitch.

Convenience is at the forefront in this SUV, especially when you're ready for a road trip. Ample cupholders for storing your beverages, 12-volt power outlets for juicing up your devices, and seat-back pockets for storing your belongings are standard across the lineup. You can opt for a higher trim to add on a hands-free, foot-activated liftgate and a heated steering wheel.

For entertainment, you can enjoy touch-screen navigation, satellite radio, and a SYNC 3 infotainment system on the SEL and above, while the top Sport boasts even more with a standard 12-speaker Sony sound system and two 4.2-inch LCD screens. However, all trims can be equipped with a DVD Entertainment System to keep your little ones occupied during a long journey.

Safety Features

Worrying about your family's safety doesn't have to be a chore with the 2018 Ford Edge. This SUV packs on front and rear side-curtain air bags to reduce bodily injury, an SOS Post-Crash Alert System to call for help after a collision, and LATCH child car seat anchors for securely strapping in your kids.

Upgrade to the SEL or above for advanced keyless entry and a perimeter alarm to ward off potential predators. If you still aren't convinced to test drive the 2018 Edge, you'll be pleased to know it earned a five-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA.
